Pueblo blanco
Take an excursion to the white village of Pueblo Mijas by car or bus. A direct bus leaves from the bus station in Fuengirola. If you come by car, park in the parking lot when you arrive. Take the elevator, or the car, up to floor ten and you will come directly out onto the square where the tourist information is located. There is a lot of material and maps for a visit to Pueblo.
Mijas is one of the largest municipalities in the province of Malaga and Mijas Pueblo is located on a mountain a few miles above Fuengirola. The highest point is Pico de Mijas, which is at an altitude of 1150 meters. The white village of Pueblo is 428 meters above sea level.

The map they have at the tourist information leads you around to attractions and if it’s hot you can take a Tuk Tuk instead, or a horse-drawn carriage.
Views and guided nature walks
The view from Pueblo is astonishing and if you continue up to the top, La Bola, you have a 360-degree magical view. There are many hiking trails and the tourist office in the square offers maps with trails that are clearly marked and easy to follow.

The donkeys in Mijas Pueblo
Mijas Pueblo is famous for its donkeys that transport tourists. The treatment of the donkeys has been criticized by animal lovers and organisations, and therefore the municipal management has drawn up new regulations to make life better for the donkeys. The new rules that came into force in 2020 can hopefully satisfy all parties. In any case, you can sit on the donkey outside the tourist office.
